Homewood South

ghetto
(n.) An impoverished, neglected, or otherwise disadvantaged residential area of a city, usually troubled by a disproportionately large amount of crime, unofficially established by those who have to segregate those who have not, such that they don't have to look at them
Homewood South, like its sister neighborhoods Homewood North and Homewood West, is not so much a neighborhood in decline as a neighborhood intentionally left to ruin. One real estate company owns vast sections of decrepit housing, presumably waiting to "develop" it to "upscale" residences, much as is happening in nearby Larimer. When that occurrs, the poor who can barely afford to live here will have nowhere to go.
